LIFESTYLE: CAN YOU SOLVE LONELINESS? THIS STARTUPS ON IT
Radha Agrawal (the co-founding Daybreaker) has launched Belong Center, a nonprofit addressing loneliness. Based on the research that loneliness is an epidemic, she wants to foster connections through free-spirited, vulnerability-focused gatherings called circles. Belong Center plans to pop up in a dozen U.S. cities, introducing initiatives like an apparel line, a Sunday school for kids, and a TV show promoting friendship.

Buying a home prior to tying the knot is on the rise for single women. In fact, single women now own 2.71 million more homes than single men — how’s that for empowerment? There are 2 real estate agents in Texas, Kristina Modares and Stephanie Douglass, who want to help more women become homeowners. They believe that women should not have to wait to purchase a home.

BUSINESS: BEZOS SURPASSED ELON MUSK AS WORLD’S RICHEST

ON FAILURE: How big would you dream if you knew you couldn’t fail? - Anonymous

Our relationship with failure is what holds us back from achieving our biggest dreams. Because of failure, we doubt ourselves or our capabilities and we may even make our dreams smaller so that they seem achievable. Rather, if we started to embrace failure and think of it as a tool for learning, we’d have a complete different mindset. You only fail when you stop trying.

NEW YORK

EAT: New York is definitely not short of places to eat, so we’ll break it down. For a serious 3-star michelan dining experience, check out Per Se for French cuisine. Atera, with 2 stars, offers New American dining and a wine bar. This restaurant is not able to accommodate parties larger than 4. For stunning views and equally stunning plates, visit Saga. If you’re in the mood for Italian, Locanda Verde offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Another popular destination is Carbone. Recently named the best pizza place in America, Una needs to be on the list. For Indian cuisine, consider Tamarind, Dhamaka (very colorful experience), and Baar Baar (a gastrobar).

STAY: For an insanely luxorious stay, Aman is a must and it definitely comes with a price tag. The One Hotel in Central Park is stunning, especially if you love the sustainability factor. A stylish option is The Bowery Hotel located close to East Village. If you prefer to rent a space, consider Sonder. Sonder has many beautifully designed properties across NYC.

DO: On March 16, there will be a St. Patrick’s Day Parade. You can also visit Governor’s Island for a day trip. New York always has some sample sales going on where you can get over 60% off retail prices. You can go whiskey tasting at Great Jones Distillery — Manhattan’s first legal distillery since the Prohibition. If you’re a fan of Harry Potter, visit the Exhibition which is in town until April 7th or have a date night at The Met. A trip to New York wouldn’t be completed without visiting the Summit and Central Park.
