Around 13% of corporate staff (2,350 positions) are looking to be laid off from team Macy’s. The entire idea behind this is to invest in consumer-focused areas like digital upgrades for more seamless shopping and in order to achieve this they’re also planning on closing 5 store locations. Activist investors also have launched a $5.8 billion buyout bid for Macy's.

MARKETS — REDDIT SEEKS TO LAUNCH IPO
In March, Reddit is planning to sell 10% of their shares in the IPO. In 2021, the company was valued at $10 billion but the IPO valuation is yet to be disclosed. Last year, the founder mentioned that the company is not yet profitable — their main source of revenue is through advertisements, which generated $800 million in 2023, and a $5.99/month premium membership for users.

FASHION — BRUNELLO CUCINELLI SURPASSED $1B IN SALES
The Italian luxury brand recently reported a 23.9% increase in their Q4 sales of 2023. They’re actually 5 years ahead of schedule and had a revenue of $321 million as their full-year sales were a record €1.14b . This year they’re looking at a hopeful 10% growth in sales and to grow investments. A factory in Solomeo is expected to evolve and they want to create a new men’s tailoring factory in Penne, Italy.
