FASHION: THE CASHMERE WARS OF SOCIAL MEDIA
Naadam, a cashmere brand, had a short-lived campaign on Instagram recently and viewers thought it was a direct poke at a similar cashmere company, Quince. The micro-campaign only lasted a day and a half and had memes as posts, homepage takeovers, and email marketing all thought out for it. The goal was simply to have fun, without a focus on sales or brand awareness but did they declare an unspoken competition?

High-wage remote job opportunities have seriously decreased since 2022 going from 3/10 to every 1/10 listings. Instead, the demand for hybrid and fully in person jobs has gone up. Applicants are having to choose between a higher paycheck versus staying at home. It’s been noted that the most fierce competition for jobs paying upward of $200k annually is in marketing, media, and design fields.

BUSINESS: BUMBLE IS REDUCING THEIR WORKFORCE
Bumble plans to cut ~350 roles as part of its reduction strategy, with expected one-time charges of $20-25 million. In December of 2022, Bumble had 950+ employees, with most outside of the U.S, but within the past year they’ve grown their team here. This is quite a significant step for Lidiane Jones, the CEO, as she’s only been on the job for less than 2 months.
